Daniele Spadoni is the creator of many retro games, crossovers, fan games, etc. You can find a complete list of his games on his blog, all of which are free. If you want to follow his news and releases, he's also on Twitter. On my YouTube channel you can watch gameplays of the games he releases, and here on the blog I review many of them. In his games you can find an interesting mix of genres and worlds, such as: Monkey Island, The Goonies, Spiderman, Saint Seiya, Joker, Back to the Future and many more.
Let's get to know him a little better through these questions I asked him.
For the people who don't know your games yet (inconceivable! xD), can you give a short description?
My name is Daniele Spadoni. Starting in 2019 I have begun to create and wish new horizons for the old glories with titles that were only possible in dreams, with the birth of new chapters and the revival of characters that were abandoned by the public. I hope that today the children of yesterday's parents will show their children experiences from the 80s and 90s.
What do you think is special about retro games compared to modern games, besides the nostalgia that takes us back to our younger years?
Retro games have love. The creators of these stories from the past had the opportunity to express themselves because they loved what they were doing, without thinking about the end purpose. They only cared that their stories remain in the hearts of today's adult children.
Do you have a favorite game from all times?
I don't have any favorite games, because every creation is wonderful at the moment of creation.
What is more fun: creating games or watching others play them?
Creating a game is like being reborn in another life.
Seeing others play with my creation is an important moment because their hearts are connected to God and they become children again.
What do you like most about a game: plot, characters, graphics, genre...?
As I wrote before, there is no particular something that I prefer, because every moment of creation is important.
Do you often play games (from other developers)? What kind?
No, because the time I have left after creation I dedicate to my spiritual life.
Are you an individual developer or do you have a team behind you (collaborators, beta testers, graphic designers, programmers...)?
Now it is not necessary. In the future, when I reach a position, I will create a team to be able to make new and unreleased titles, but for now the old stories still have a lot to express.
Is there a genre or theme that you would reject for your games?
I don't ask myself this question because when creation happens, it means that it is right to do it.
If there is anything else you would like to add or comment on:
Take the time to become a child again, because only then can you live a peaceful and loving life.
